The General Traffic Department (GTD) has issued its weekly report, covering activities from November 9 to 15. During this period, traffic patrols recorded a total of 39,170 traffic violations, seized 105 vehicles, and impounded 55 motorcycles for infractions of Article 207 of the Executive Regulations of the Traffic Law. Authorities also confiscated 48 vehicles involved in various cases and arrested 21 individuals wanted by other agencies, according to reports from Al-Seyassah daily.
In addition, four individuals were referred to the General Department for Combating Narcotics on suspicion of possessing drugs, and one person found in an unusual state was handed over to the appropriate authorities. Traffic control centers received 2,548 reports and documented 1,589 traffic accidents, including 1,394 collisions and 195 incidents involving injuries.
From November 10 to 16, the General Department of Rescue Police reported a series of significant operations. They apprehended 211 individuals wanted by authorities, seized 122 vehicles involved in legal cases, and detained six individuals in possession of suspected alcoholic beverages.
The department also responded to 13 reports of suspicious activities, resolved 13 disputes, and provided humanitarian assistance in 249 cases. During this week, a total of 5,464 traffic violations were recorded, and 20 vehicles were impounded in a detention garage. Authorities referred 17 juveniles to the Juvenile Prosecution and imposed precautionary measures on 32 violators.
The Ministry of Interior remains dedicated to enforcing traffic laws, improving road safety, and addressing public security concerns.
