Travelers passing through Kuwaiti airports must declare any valuables they’re carrying. The Ministry of Interior is reminding passengers that under current regulations, you are legally required to declare cash of 3,000 dinars or more, or the equivalent in foreign currency, on both arrival and departure.
This rule also applies to gold in all forms, including bullion, jewelry, and expensive watches, when leaving the country. You’ll need to get the proper documentation: a document from the Air Cargo Department for gold bullion and a “sighting note” for watches and jewelry. This note is issued on departure and verified upon your return, so be sure to have your receipts ready.
Officials state that this declaration process is a legal measure to combat money laundering and terrorist financing, not a restriction on your travel.
