
In a large-scale operation on Kuwait’s ring roads and expressways, the Ministry of Interior announced that an extensive traffic campaign resulted in 5,834 traffic violations and 153 arrests for violations of residency and labor laws.
The General Traffic Department’s Highway Department conducted the campaign as part of the Ministry’s ongoing efforts to manage traffic flow and improve road safety.
According to a Ministry statement, the campaign involved a widespread deployment of security and traffic patrols. Their focus was on apprehending violators and wanted individuals while ensuring legal procedures were followed. In addition to the traffic and residency arrests, 10 people were arrested for not carrying identification, and five others were taken into custody for various other offenses.
During the operation, authorities also seized 47 vehicles that were wanted by the judiciary. They also detained two individuals with suspected narcotics, confiscated two vehicles for traffic violations, and placed one person in precautionary detention.
The Ministry of Interior reaffirmed its commitment to continuing these intensified security and traffic plans to protect all road users. The Ministry also praised the cooperation of citizens and residents and urged everyone to report illegal activities by calling the emergency hotline 112.
