20th , Oct. 2025: The General Traffic Department has announced the closure of the left and center lanes on Arabian Gulf Street for motorists traveling from the Engineers Association intersection towards the Amiri Hospital intersection, starting Sunday evening.
The closure, which will remain in effect for 20 days, is part of ongoing road maintenance work. Authorities have urged drivers to follow traffic signs, exercise caution, and use alternate routes to avoid congestion.
In a related update, the department also announced that Damascus Street will be open in both directions starting dawn on Monday. The reopening applies to the section between Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan Road (Fifth Ring Road) and Ibrahim Al Mazin Street, providing improved access for residents of Al Salam and Al Siddiq areas and other road users.
