Kuwait: In a significant move to modernize the nation’s legal framework, the Kuwaiti Cabinet approved a draft decree-law on Tuesday dedicated to combating terrorism. Chaired by His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmad Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah at Bayan Palace, the session formalized a legislative blueprint designed to fortify state security.
The new law focuses on dismantling terror financing networks and establishing rigorous legal penalties while maintaining a critical balance between national safety and constitutional freedoms. Developed through collaboration between judicial and state bodies, the legislation aligns with international standards to address emerging security threats. Following Cabinet consent, the bill—along with an amendment to the National Military Service Law (No. 20/2015)—has been referred to His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah for final ratification.
