Official working hours in government offices, agencies, and ministries during Ramadan 2025 will remain “flexible,” with adjustments for both male and female employees. The workday will consist of 4 and 1/2 hours, but females may shorten their workday to 4 hours if they choose to use two 15-minute grace periods, one at the start and one at the end of their shifts. Males will be entitled to only one 15-minute grace period, either at the beginning or the end of the workday.
Sources also confirmed that the benefits introduced during Ramadan 2024, such as allowances for late arrivals and additional leave hours, will continue in 2025. This follows the introduction of flexible working hours last year, allowing employees to start their workday within a flexible time window. In 2023, the workday was split into three 4.5-hour periods, and similar adjustments are expected in the coming year to support employees during the holy month.
