Kuwait police have thwarted a major cyber attack targeting telecommunications towers in the country and arrested a Chinese gang behind the operation.
The Ministry of Interior announced that the suspects were apprehended following investigations after local authorities received reports from banks and telecommunications companies that had been targeted by cyber attacks. The suspects used advanced technology to infiltrate the networks.
Police tracked the signal to a vehicle in Farwaniya, where they arrested one suspect and discovered high-tech devices inside. The suspect then led authorities to his residence, where more devices were found, and subsequently led them to his accomplices, who were also arrested, the ministry explained.
