The Al-Ojari Scientific Center announced that, based on astronomical calculations, the first day of Eid al-Fitr will be on Sunday, March 30, 2025.
The center stated that the crescent moon will be visible on Saturday at 1:57 PM and will remain in the skies of Kuwait and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for 8 minutes. However, the final decision to mark the beginning of the month of Shawwal will be made by the Sharia Sighting Authority.
The crescent moon will be visible in some Arab and Islamic capitals and cities for durations ranging from 4 to 20 minutes, depending on their geographical locations. In certain cities, particularly those in Southeast Asia, the moon will set before the sun, making it impossible to see the crescent moon in these areas on the designated sighting day.
