The Criminal Investigation Department, led by the Hawally Investigator team, has initiated a search for two unknown suspects who robbed an expatriate of 1,000 Kuwaiti dinars in cash and a 500-dinar check before fleeing to an unknown location. The victim, a man born in 1979, was unable to recall the license plate number of the suspects’ vehicle but described it as a black American SUV.
According to the victim’s statement, the incident took place in Hawally, Block 11, near a men’s salon. While walking in the area, the victim was approached by two men in an SUV who pretended to be detectives and demanded to see his identification. As the victim retrieved his ID, one of the men handcuffed him and forced him into the vehicle. The suspects then searched him, stole his cash and check, and warned him not to alert bystanders. They also threatened to deport him and harm him if he sought help, insisting they were law enforcement officers.
The case has been classified as a felony, and investigators are reviewing surveillance footage and compiling a list of vehicles matching the victim’s description. Authorities are working to identify and question the suspects to establish their involvement in the crime. The investigation is ongoing, with security forces intensifying efforts to apprehend the criminals.
