Kuwait Deported Nearly 29,000 Expatriates in the First Nine Months of 2025
6th, Oct, 2025: Kuwait has deported 28,984 expatriates of various nationalities between January and September 2025, according to security officials.
The vast majority of those expelled were involved in residency law violations, absconding, or begging. Other reasons for removal included drug-related offenses, illegal activities, and other security or social reasons.
The Ministry of Interior handles the logistics of deportation. If the deportee or sponsor fails to provide a flight ticket, the Ministry purchases it through approved travel agencies. The cost is then recovered from the sponsor, who may face a travel or financial ban until the debt is settled.
The deportation process typically takes about three days for individuals with valid travel documents. However, cases can be delayed by embassy procedures or outstanding legal matters requiring court appearances. For those without passports, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs coordinates with embassies to issue necessary emergency travel documents, ensuring the deportations are completed swiftly.
Security sources confirmed that continuous security campaigns across the country are responsible for the arrest of thousands of law violators, reflecting the ministry’s sustained effort to uphold security and order in Kuwait.
