
Kuwait’s Ministry of Interior (MoI) announced on Sunday the amnesty of 781 prisoners, in line with the Amiri Decree No. 33 of 2025.
The move came to implement the directions of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah of the Decree, on the occasion of the country’s 64th National Day, the Ministry said in a statement.
The step, which reduced of the rest of punishment of the above-mentioned, was implemented, in the presence of First Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister Sheikh Fahad Yusuf Saud Al-Sabah.
The State is keen on backing those released, in accordance with the Decree, the minister said, urging them to seize this great opportunity for a new start in terms of respecting law.
This category is asked to achieve contributions to building and developing their society, he noted, urging opening an office to facilitate their integration into society and offer required support to them.
This will help rehabilitate them in a way that contributes to achieving social stability and enabling them to start a new life based on commitment and responsibility, Sheikh Fahad Yusuf pointed out.
The ministry elaborated that the Amiri initiative came after fruitful and constructive cooperation between the Amiri Diwan, Public Prosecution and the MoI to speed up the release of those prisoners.
