The Mosques Sector Department at the Ministry of Islamic Affairs has issued a reminder to imams and muezzins, urging them to inform expatriate workers in mosques about the requirement to update their travel permits at all entry points.
In a circular, the Mosques Sector clarified that the exit permit document previously used by expatriates for international travel has been discontinued at all entry points, including sea and land borders. This printed permit is no longer valid and has been replaced by the digital exit permit certificate available through the Sahel app.
The circular also emphasized that expatriates must obtain their exit permits well in advance of their travel dates. This process requires visiting the relevant administration to register their leave in the ministry’s system, submitting a letter from the integrated systems, and visiting the integrated systems office at the ministry building to activate the exit permit on the Sahel app.
