50,175 Incidents of Traffic Violations Logged in One Week

The General Traffic Department has stepped up its traffic enforcement campaigns across all governorates, focusing on underage drivers without licenses, reckless driving behaviors, and individuals with outstanding warrants. These intensified efforts have produced substantial results over the past week. According to the latest statistics, authorities recorded 50,175 traffic violations. As part of the crackdown, 182 vehicles and 18 motorcycles were impounded. In addition, 32 juveniles were handed over to the Juvenile Prosecution for various driving offenses.

The campaigns also led to the arrest of 22 individuals wanted for a range of legal issues, including absconding and expired residency. Authorities seized 46 vehicles that were sought after, and all arrests and seizures were forwarded to the appropriate agencies for further proceedings.

From August 4 to August 10, 2024, the department documented 1,142 traffic accidents resulting in injuries and 209 collisions. These numbers highlight the ongoing commitment of the General Traffic Department to improving road safety and enforcing traffic regulations.
