Decline Observed in the Number of Fake Calls This Year

The Communications and Information Technology Regulatory Authority (CITRA) has reported a decrease in the rate of fake calls this year. In a post on its X account, CITRA highlighted that, with the support of telecommunications companies, it has intensified efforts to tackle the issue of fake calls. These efforts have led to a significant and noticeable reduction in the number of such calls.

CITRA stated that it will continue to develop more effective strategies and solutions to address these challenges and ensure a secure communications environment for everyone. Last month, CITRA introduced the “Kashif” service for legal entities, which displays the caller’s name and number to the recipient. This service aims to reduce calls from unknown sources.
