An informed source has confirmed that the Public Prosecution has referred the Mangaf fire case to the General Department of Investigations at the Ministry of Interior. The case has been classified as a “misdemeanor” rather than a “felony,” based on technical reports indicating that the fire was not intentional.
The source mentioned that after interrogating all the accused and initially detaining them pending trial, the Public Prosecution did not find any evidence of criminal intent or premeditation. As a result, the detention renewal judge has decided to release the eight defendants in the case—which includes one Kuwaiti citizen, three Indians, and four Egyptians—on bail of 300 dinars each.
