Investigators from the Hawalli Governorate have successfully resolved 12 fraud cases after arresting an individual with a criminal history. During the investigation, the suspect admitted to carrying out multiple fraud schemes, exploiting the high demand for domestic workers among Kuwaiti citizens.
According to a security source, the fraudulent activities in Hawalli followed a consistent pattern. The perpetrator advertised domestic worker services on Instagram, sent photos of purported workers to victims, and then collected advance payments—sometimes up to 500 dinars—before ceasing communication.
After receiving several reports, investigations led to the suspect’s location and arrest. It was found that he had a criminal record and had created an Instagram account specifically for these scams. He confessed to committing over 12 fraudulent acts across various governorates and claimed to have spent the stolen money.
