According to a recent global safety survey conducted by Gallup, Kuwait has been ranked as the world’s safest nation for 2024 in terms of citizens’ confidence in walking alone in the streets, with an overwhelming 99% of respondents expressing feelings of security. Singapore trails closely behind in second place with 94%, while Norway and Saudi Arabia tie for third with 92%, as reported by Al-Seyassah daily.
Kuwait has also achieved the top spot on the Law and Order Index, boasting an impressive score of 98 out of 100, and has maintained its position as one of the world’s safest countries since 2019. Furthermore, Hellosafe’s “Travel Safety Index” has been released, which evaluates countries on a scale of 0 to 100, with 0 being the safest and 100 being the least safe, according to Le Soir. This index takes into account 35 factors, including the occurrence of natural disasters, social unrest, involvement in armed conflicts, and healthcare infrastructure.
The index also reveals that Europe is the safest continent for travelers, with 30 of the top 50 safest countries located there. Iceland takes the top spot globally, scoring 18.23 points, closely followed by Singapore with 19.99 points and Denmark with 20.05 points. Notably, 12 of the top 15 safest countries are in Europe, including Switzerland, which ranks fifth. Bhutan leads the pack in the top 15 with 22.98 points, while Qatar comes close in 11th place with 23.33 points.
