Kuwait reported 7,600 cases of heart attacks over a 15-month period, with 71% of those affected being expatriates

A significant study on heart diseases in Kuwait, conducted by the Heart Association, examined data from May 15, 2023, to August 2024. The findings revealed a total of 7,600 cases, with 5,396 (about 71%) being non-Kuwaitis and 2,206 (29%) Kuwaiti nationals. The death rate among these cases was 1.9%, which is consistent with global averages.

The study indicated that 82% of the cases were males (6,239), while females comprised 18% (1,363). Additionally, 43% of the patients were current smokers, and 13% were former smokers. More than half of the affected individuals were also diagnosed with diabetes, and the average age of the patients was 56 years.
