The Communications and Information Technology Regulatory Authority (CITRA) has reported a disruption in the international submarine cable (Falcon) operated by GCX Company, which links Kuwait to Al-Khobar, Saudi Arabia. The cable was damaged in an area outside Kuwaiti territorial waters, resulting in a decline in internet service quality throughout the country.
CITRA announced via its official social media channels that it is working closely with GCX to carry out the necessary technical repairs. The authority is also coordinating with internet service providers to reroute data traffic through alternative international cables to maintain service continuity.
