The Sharq fish market has recently received around 71 tons of imported fish and shrimp, aimed at making seafood more affordable for consumers. This large shipment, which includes fish from Iran, Pakistan, and Saudi Arabia, is expected to lower prices and provide a wider selection of options.
Commercial sources indicate that the increased supply is the result of extensive discussions between the Commercial Control Department, the Union of Imported Fish Offices, and the Kuwaiti Fishermen’s Union. These meetings focused on resolving issues related to fish imports and encouraging market competition. The variety of imported fish includes different types from Iran, Pakistan, and Saudi Arabia, with prices depending on the fish type and size.
