In a recent verdict, the Criminal Court, led by Counselor Mutaib Al-Ardhi, sentenced a man to five years in prison and fined him 263,000 dinars for defrauding a woman. The man falsely claimed to hold a government job and promised marriage to deceive the victim into giving him a house and a chalet. He also exploited her social security benefits to obtain money. The court ordered the confiscation of the fraudulently obtained funds to ensure the victim’s rights are upheld.
