Security campaigns conducted by the Ministry of Interior over eight days resulted in 293 arrests of individuals wanted on various charges and the issuance of 56,332 traffic violations. Authorities also seized 161 wanted vehicles, referred 19 juveniles to the Juvenile Prosecution, and impounded 59 vehicles and 67 motorcycles.
According to the Ministry of Interior’s Traffic Department, between August 24 and 30, campaigns across all governorates led to the detention of 29 traffic law violators and the referral of 19 juveniles to the Juvenile Prosecution. During this period, 24 individuals were arrested for offenses such as expired visas and lack of identification, while 53 vehicles and 67 motorcycles were impounded.
Traffic patrols recorded 47,810 traffic violations, referred 56 wanted vehicles, impounded 5 vehicles, and responded to 181 traffic accidents involving collisions and injuries, as well as 920 collision complaints.
Anti-drug campaigns conducted from August 25 to 31 resulted in the confiscation of 19 suspected narcotic substances and the arrest of 269 wanted individuals, including those reported missing, convicted criminals, and those without identification. Additionally, 15 individuals were arrested for intoxication, 3 were found with alcohol, and 105 wanted vehicles were seized. All individuals and vehicles were referred to the appropriate authorities.
During these campaigns, 8,522 traffic violations were recorded, and 6 vehicles were impounded. Emergency police managed 19 fights and provided 354 instances of humanitarian aid.
