Minister of Public Works, Dr. Noura Al-Mashaan, reaffirmed her commitment to improving the country’s air transport infrastructure by implementing the highest international standards in civil aviation. During a periodic meeting with representatives from government agencies involved in the new Terminal 2 (T2) airport project, including the Government Performance Follow-up Agency and Acting Director General of the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), Duaij Al-Otaibi, the minister emphasized the importance of completing the project promptly and within the established schedule as specified in the contract. Dr. Al-Mashaan stated, ‘The ministry is working diligently and collaboratively to ensure the completion of the new T2 passenger terminal, which will significantly enhance the passenger experience and expand our capacity to handle the anticipated increase in air traffic.’
She highlighted that the new airport project demonstrates a strong commitment to developing the civil aviation sector and supporting the country’s economic growth. Following the meeting, Dr. Al-Mashaan stressed the importance of coordination to address outstanding issues and overcome obstacles to ensure the project is completed on time. She mentioned that the meeting included discussions on DGCA’s Letter No. 7/10261 and reviewed the latest developments regarding telecommunications companies and coordination efforts for phase 3. The discussions also covered the roads leading to Kuwait International Airport, emphasizing the need to address potential obstacles that passengers may face upon arrival.
The minister noted that the new passenger terminal project is a key component of the ambitious national initiatives to develop and modernize the country’s infrastructure, aligning with the New Kuwait 2035 vision. This vision aims to transform Kuwait into a regional and global financial and commercial hub that attracts investment. Al-Mashaan affirmed the government’s dedication to utilizing all available resources and facilities to ensure the airport project is completed on schedule. She stated, ‘Kuwait deserves our collective effort and unity. We must collaborate with all parties and work as a team to advance projects and services that will enhance Kuwait’s standing and prominence in various fields.
