18, Nov, 2025: The Ministry of Interior (MoI) has announced a significant victory against residency and visa manipulation, closing a prominent domestic worker recruitment office in Farwaniya for its direct involvement in human trafficking and illegal visa trading. This operation was executed under the firm directives of First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Fahd Al-Yousef.
The General Department of Criminal Investigation confirmed that the office was operating out of a private residence. Their scheme involved recruiting domestic workers via a handful of citizen sponsors. Once the workers—primarily of Asian nationality—arrived in Kuwait, the office immediately sold them to third parties for exorbitant, illegal fees, ranging between KD 1,200 and KD 1,300 per worker. This figure vastly exceeds the official recruitment charges.
Citizens who facilitated the initial recruitment by providing visas were also implicated, receiving a smaller payment of KD 50 to KD 100 per worker.
The MoI has referred all implicated individuals to the appropriate legal authorities. The Ministry affirmed its unwavering stance that human trafficking is one of the most serious crimes against human values and community security, pledging to enforce deterrent legal measures against anyone proven to be involved in the exploitation of workers or violation of residency laws.
