Just four days after the Ministry of Interior issued a stern warning about taking strict action against vehicles producing disturbing noises and immediately shutting down companies supplying vehicles with disruptive exhaust systems, informed security sources revealed that Salwa detectives, acting on directives from the First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Fahad Yousef Saud Al-Sabah, arrested four expatriates. The suspects were found in possession of approximately 350 noisy exhaust devices stored in garages in Shuwaikh Industrial. The sources confirmed that the garages were closed in coordination with the Ministry of Commerce and Industry.
On Saturday, the ministry announced that as part of ongoing efforts to combat negative phenomena that disturb public comfort and affect road safety, the General Traffic Department (GTD), in collaboration with the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, would continue to conduct intensive traffic campaigns. These campaigns involve setting up fixed and mobile checkpoints to impound vehicles with illegally modified exhausts that emit annoying sounds, as well as the immediate closure of garages that supply such illegal exhaust systems.- AT.
