
Wednessday 17/09/2025, WednesdayThe Ministry of Commerce’s Commercial Control Department is ramping up inspections across all six governorates to combat fraud and violations. Authorities have deployed special teams with a zero-tolerance policy for offenders.
In Ahmadi Governorate, inspectors shut down seven shops. Among them were three fish stalls caught changing the country of origin on their products, a fruit and vegetable retailer, and two contracting companies that failed to fulfill their obligations to customers.
Meanwhile, in Farwaniya Governorate, teams seized 381 counterfeit items during raids on several shops.
Faisal Al-Ansari, Director of the Commercial Control Department, stated that the ministry is dedicated to protecting consumer rights and holding violators accountable. He emphasized that the campaigns will continue to monitor the market for price manipulation, mislabeled products, counterfeit or expired goods, and artificial price hikes.
