
As part of its ongoing efforts to regulate markets and prevent price manipulation, the Ministry of Commerce and Industry carried out an intensive inspection campaign in the Shuwaikh area on Wednesday evening. The operation focused on food and consumer goods stores to identify any violations related to unjustified price hikes.
The campaign, led by Faisal Al-Ansari, Director of the Commercial Control Department, uncovered multiple violations. Legal action was taken against the offenders, and authorities confirmed that similar inspection campaigns will continue in various governorates, covering cooperative societies, wholesale markets, supermarkets, and all commercial entities under the Ministry’s jurisdiction.
The campaign was also attended by Muhammad Al-Otaibi, Supervisor of the Shuwaikh Center, and Ahmed Al-Fadhli, Commercial Inspector, along with specialized inspection teams. The Ministry of Commerce reiterated its commitment to monitoring markets and vowed to take strict action against any attempts to exploit consumers. The Ministry emphasized that these inspections will continue to ensure price stability and uphold commercial fairness.
