30, Sep, 2025: Kuwait Launches Volunteer Tour Guide Program to Boost Tourism
On Monday, the Ministry of Information started the “Voluntary Tourist Guidance” service on the government’s Sahel app. This allows Kuwaiti citizens to sign up as volunteer tour guides to help grow the country’s tourism industry.
Minister Abdulrahman Al-Mutairi is leading the effort, which aims to make Kuwait more attractive to tourists. The goal is to get young people involved in sharing Kuwait’s culture, national identity, and famous hospitality. The program is part of a larger plan to improve Kuwait’s image globally.
The Ministry is working with the Voluntary Work Center to create a national list of guides. These volunteers will lead tours, participate in cultural events, and help welcome official guests.
Citizens can apply easily through the Sahel app by sending in their resumes. After applying, candidates will be interviewed, their skills will be assessed, and they will receive specialized training before starting their guiding roles. This program shows Kuwait’s dedication to involving its youth and community in promoting the country as a welcoming place.
