Eight individuals convicted of murder are scheduled to be executed today, Sunday, at Kuwait’s Central Prison, according to a security source. The executions follow the completion of all legal procedures, including final rulings from the criminal, appeals, and cassation courts, along with the ratification of the sentences.
The source disclosed that the convicts include six Kuwaiti nationals (five men and one woman), one Egyptian citizen, and one Bedouin (stateless). The Ministry of Interior, in collaboration with the Departments of Correctional Institutions, Criminal Evidence, the Criminal Execution Prosecution, and other relevant judicial authorities, has finalized all preparations for the executions. Specialized doctors from the Ministry of Health will oversee the process to ensure proper protocol is followed.
This will be the first round of executions in 2025. Previously, the Central Prison carried out executions of six murder convicts on September 5, 2024, and seven individuals in November 2022.
The Ministry emphasized that these executions are a reflection of the enforcement of final judicial rulings, ensuring justice is served after all legal avenues have been exhausted.
