The Criminal Court has sentenced a Kuwaiti teacher to five years in prison for encouraging a student to engage in immoral behavior via a social media platform. The Public Prosecution had earlier ordered the teacher’s pretrial detention on charges of inciting the student to commit acts of debauchery online. In its statement, the Public Prosecution revealed that the teacher had sent inappropriate messages, images, and videos to the student through a social media app, all of which violated public morals. The teacher also had a prior conviction for similar offenses. During questioning, the accused admitted to the charges.
