The Ministry of Interior (MoI) has dismantled a major operation producing counterfeit ‘imported liquor’ in the Abdali area, arresting two Asian nationals.
This successful bust, carried out by the General Department for Combating Narcotics (under the Criminal Security Sector), is part of ongoing efforts to combat illegal activities. Investigators discovered that the suspects were expertly bottling the illicit alcohol and passing it off as expensive imported brands.
The raid uncovered all the necessary manufacturing and bottling equipment, including presses, along with a significant quantity of counterfeit labels and trademarks used to deceive buyers.
The two suspects and all seized evidence have been handed over to the competent authorities for legal action. The Ministry affirmed it will intensify security campaigns to protect public health and safety, emphasizing zero tolerance for those who attempt to violate the law or endanger the community.
