The Ministry of Interior, through the General Department of Criminal Investigations (Public Morals and Human Trafficking Department), has uncovered and dismantled what is believed to be the largest illicit liquor production facility in the Abdali agricultural area. The operation, run by a group of Asian nationals, served as a central hub for producing and distributing illegal alcohol.
Following the necessary legal procedures, authorities raided the site and arrested the individuals operating the factory. During the raid, investigators confiscated a significant amount of alcohol production equipment, including around 2,030 barrels of raw materials and 10,000 plastic bottles of locally produced alcohol ready for sale. Shockingly, the factory was using a large swimming pool as a reservoir for collecting distilled alcohol.
The arrested suspects and the seized items have been handed over to the relevant authorities for further legal proceedings.
The Ministry of Interior emphasized that this operation is part of the ongoing efforts by the Criminal Security Sector to combat illegal activities. The ministry reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring public safety and security by taking strict action against lawbreakers and preventing threats to the country’s stability.
The public is encouraged to report suspicious activities or emergencies by calling the Ministry of Interior’s helpline at 112.
