The Public Authority for Manpower has announced changes to the worker transfer regulations within the small and medium-sized enterprises (SME) sector. The required period for transferring workers within this sector has been shortened from three years to one year, provided the sponsor gives approval.
Sources also clarified that transfers from the SME sector to the private sector are not allowed. The change is intended to help address challenges faced by struggling projects and operational difficulties, allowing for more efficient use of workers within SMEs.
