The Ministry of Interior, through the Traffic and Operations Sector, has announced the launch of automated surveillance cameras powered by artificial intelligence. These cameras will monitor traffic violations, including obstruction and failure to follow lane markings.
In a statement on Thursday, the ministry clarified that this initiative follows the guidance of Acting Prime Minister, Minister of Defense, and Minister of Interior, Sheikh Fahad Yousef Saud Al-Sabah. It urged all drivers to comply with traffic laws, respect lane markings and signs, and avoid violating the rights of others on the road. The ministry stressed that following these rules is essential for maintaining traffic safety and ensuring smooth traffic flow.
The initiative is part of the Ministry of Interior’s broader strategy to improve the traffic system and ensure the safety of all road users. The ministry also warned that violators would face legal consequences for noncompliance.
