
Kuwait experienced its coldest February temperatures in years today, as a powerful Siberian polar cold front led to an unprecedented drop in temperatures. Meteorologist Issa Ramadan reported that the perceived temperature in Mataraba dropped to -8°C, while in Salmi, it reached -6°C. The actual recorded minimum temperatures were -1°C in both Mataraba and Salmi. In Kuwait City, the perceived temperature was 0°C, with an actual minimum of 8°C. Based on climate data from the Meteorology Department, Ramadan stated that this cold wave ranks among the most extreme February cold spells Kuwait has faced in the last 60 years, especially in desert regions, underscoring the intensity of this rare weather event.
