49 die in Mangaf fire

His Highness the Amir Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah sent condolences to the families of the victims of the Mangaf apartment fire, which killed and injured dozens. He expressed deep sorrow and sympathy, wishing a fast recovery for the injured and ordered an investigation into the fire. His Highness the Crown Prince and the Prime Minister also sent condolences.

The Ministry of Interior reported that the death toll has reached 49. The landlords will be penalized, and the causes of the fire are under investigation. Officials, including the Deputy Prime Minister, Defense Minister, and Interior Minister Sheikh Fahad Yousef Saud Al-Sabah, are addressing building violations without prior warning. The building owner is in custody pending investigation.

The Minister of Public Works and Municipality suspended officials from Al-Ahmadi Municipal branch. The Director General of Kuwait Municipality issued suspensions to several officials, stressing the importance of strict law enforcement to protect lives and property.

The Indian Ambassador to Kuwait confirmed that 30 injured Indian workers are stable and receiving treatment. India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed condolences and wishes for a quick recovery for the injured. The Ministry of Health is providing comprehensive care to 43 injured individuals across several hospitals. Firefighters managed to control the fire swiftly, but many residents were caught unaware and died from smoke inhalation. The Indian Ambassador assured support for the injured workers.
