NBTC extends condolences to Mangaf fire victims’ families

Management supports family members of deceased employees.

NBTC expresses condolences to the families of its 49 employees who tragically died in the Mangaf building fire. The company stated, “We are deeply saddened by the tragic fire incident in Mangaf which led to the death of 49 employees. We offer sincere condolences to the families of the deceased.” The victims included 45 Indians, three Filipinos, and one whose nationality is yet to be confirmed. Initial investigations indicated the fire was caused by an electrical short circuit.

Currently, 130 employees are safe, with 40 injured discharged from hospitals and housed in fully furnished apartments with support. Seventeen others remain hospitalized but are in stable condition and receiving treatment. NBTC has provided financial assistance to families of deceased Indian and Filipino employees, covering funeral costs and initiating salary, entitlements, and life insurance payouts.

Additionally, NBTC is facilitating visa applications for seriously injured employees’ relatives to provide psychological support in Kuwait. The company also pledged job opportunities, educational aid, housing, and financial support to families of deceased employees. NBTC thanked Kuwaiti authorities, Indian and Philippine governments, and various organizations for their support during this challenging time.
