Alert for 175,000 Kuwaitis and 800,000 Expats Due to Incomplete Biometrics

Brigadier Nayef Al-Mutairi, Director of the Personality Investigation and Automated Search Department at the General Department of Criminal Evidence, reported that both Kuwaitis and expats have begun biometric fingerprinting. He mentioned that approximately 800,000 Kuwaiti citizens have completed the process, with around 175,000 still pending. For expats, about 1,860,000 have finished fingerprinting, leaving roughly 800,000 yet to be processed.

Al-Mutairi also addressed the needs of individuals with special requirements and those who are bedridden. He noted that nearly 1,000 cases have been managed so far and revealed that the department has recently acquired 11 specialized devices to capture fingerprints from bedridden individuals, people with disabilities, and hospital patients who find it challenging to visit the relevant departments. The aim is to offer maximum support to these groups and eliminate any barriers they may encounter.

He further reminded Kuwaiti citizens that the final deadline for completing biometric fingerprinting is September 30, while expats have until December 31. He stressed that all transactions will be suspended for individuals who do not complete the fingerprinting process by these deadlines.
