5 years in jail for bribery in residency transfer

The Criminal Court sentenced a female Kuwaiti CSC employee to five years in prison for bribery, with temporary suspension until the final ruling. She must pay a KD500 bail and was dismissed for forging an expatriate’s residency transfer for a KD700 bribe without the sponsor’s knowledge.

The broker and briber received the same prison sentence and were fined KD1,400 each. The investigation revealed the forgery was known to the accused, and the document was valid after alteration. The briber admitted to paying the broker, who had a connection with the employee, to transfer his residency without the sponsor’s presence.
