The Criminal Court has sentenced two Egyptian brothers to two and a half years in prison for fraudulently taking KD 11,000 from a Kuwaiti citizen’s account. They were accused of hacking into the Ministry of Commerce and Industry’s consumer protection database and using it to steal money from Kuwaiti citizens and expatriates through WhatsApp. They pretended to be from the Consumer Protection Department during their calls.
