Expat with Expired Visa Fleeing Hotel After 35 Days Without Settling the Bill

An expatriate, whose visa expired in 2017, is under investigation to determine how he managed to stay at a hotel for 35 days despite his illegal status. Authorities are examining whether he used a fake ID to deceive hotel management or if the hotel knowingly allowed him to stay in violation of the law.

A security source reported that a citizen filed a complaint at the Rumaithiya police station on behalf of the hotel, stating that the expatriate stayed for 35 days without paying and then fled to an unknown location despite repeated demands for payment. The authorities have since arrested the individual and confirmed that he had been violating residency laws for over four years.

The source also indicated that the expatriate could face deportation and his name might be added to a list of individuals barred from re-entering the country. Additionally, the hotel management is under investigation for failing to verify the residency status or entry visa of the expatriate staying at their premises.
