Expats Admitted to ICU at Jahra Hospital After Drinking Paint Thinner

An expatriate was admitted to the intensive care unit at Jahra Hospital after accidentally ingesting paint thinner. According to a security source, the Ministry of Interior Operations received a report from the hospital indicating that the expatriate arrived in critical condition and was immediately placed in intensive care due to impaired consciousness.

Another expatriate, who brought the victim to the hospital, was questioned and revealed that the incident occurred in the Mutlaa Residential Area, N7, Block 3. A case has been filed and forwarded to the relevant authorities for further investigation.

Paint thinners can sometimes contain alcohol, depending on their type and formulation. While many common paint thinners use solvents like mineral spirits, turpentine, or acetone, some specialized thinners, such as those for shellac or lacquer, may include alcohols like isopropyl alcohol or denatured alcohol. Alcohol-based thinners are typically used for specific finishes rather than for standard oil-based paints.
