Kuwait Wins Four Asian Shotgun Championship Medals

The skeet mixed pairs finals brought the Asian Shotgun Championship, Kuwait 2024, competitions to a close at the Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Olympic Shooting Complex. Kuwait qualified two quota places for the 2024 Olympics in Paris in addition to winning four medals.

Eng. Duaij Al-Otaibi, the Chairman of the Higher Organizing Committee and President of the Kuwait and Arab Shooting Federations, stated that the Asian Championship met its objectives in terms of excellent competitions between Asia’s International Champions as well as top-notch organization.

He claimed that Kuwait set the best example for championship organization and that the organizing committee should be commended for receiving no complaints from the teams of the 26 participating nations. Al-Otaibi commended the political leadership for enabling shooter Muhammad Al-Daihani to qualify for the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris after intense competition, where he was able to secure the bronze medal.

According to Al-Otaibi, Kuwait will compete in the skeet and trap events at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris and will work hard to build on its past Olympic successes in shooting. Al-Otaibi expressed gratitude to the Kuwait Olympic Committee and its President, Sheikh Fahad Naser Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, the Public Authority for Sport and its Director General, Yousuf Al-Baidan, as well as to HH the Prime Minister, Sheikh Dr. Mohammad Sabah Al-Salem Al-Sabah.

In the meantime, shooter Mohammad Al-Daihani’s qualification for the Olympics and his bronze medal win were praised by Secretary General of the Arab and Kuwait Shooting Federations and tournament director Obaid Al-Osaimi, who also noted that this is another accomplishment for Kuwait Shooting.

According to him, Kuwait is still hoping for more qualifying for the global championship, which will take place in Doha, Qatar, in April. He claimed that the Asian Championship was extremely competitive at the greatest levels and that Kuwait is able to organize major shooting championships with never-before-seen success thanks to the referees who upheld fairness during contests.

Shooter Al-Daihani stated that the Kuwait Shooting Sport Federation’s combined efforts throughout preparation and competition were the reason for his qualification to Paris.
