The Kuwait cricket team gets a warm welcome after their historic win

The Kuwait men’s cricket team received a big welcome at Kuwait International Airport on March 12, 2024, after winning the ICC 50 overs Challenge League Play-off in Malaysia earlier this month.

Led by captain Mohammad Aslam and coached by Qasim Ali, with assistance from Shehan Shashika and management by Naveen Jayan, the team was greeted by Kuwait Cricket officials including President Haider Farman and Director General Sajid Ashraf.

Haider Farman, President of Kuwait Cricket Board, hailed the victory as historic and credited the team and KCC family for their hard work. Despite an early setback, he praised the team’s resilience.

Sajid Ashraf, KCC Director General, expressed joy over Kuwait’s qualification for the ICC CWC Challenge League, granting them List A Status. He commended the team’s skill and determination, aiming for ICC ODI Status.

Next, Kuwait gears up for the ACC T20 Men’s Premier League in Oman from April 10th to 24th, 2024, aiming to continue their success on the international stage.

The nation celebrates the team’s achievements and looks forward to their future endeavors in associate nations cricket.
