The Kuwait Medical Relief Society team has completed its mission in Gaza

A team from the Kuwait Medical Relief Society has concluded its mission in the Gaza Strip. Their relief and medical mission aimed to assist the medical staff in the European Hospital and the Kuwait Specialized Hospital, where they performed several surgical and emergency operations for wounded Palestinians affected by the tragic devastation of war.

Omar Al-Thuwaini, Deputy Director General of the Society, stated that the team carried out various relief activities within Gaza, including delicate surgical operations, distribution of food, shelter, and social projects, and support for multiple relief sectors. Al-Thuwaini urged volunteer medical and relief teams worldwide to bring their equipment to Gaza to aid the large number of wounded Palestinians and support the struggling medical sector, facing a severe shortage of basic supplies.

He praised the efforts of Kuwait’s ministries in facilitating the team’s travel, particularly the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Health Ministry, and Ministry of Defense, which aided in transportation.

Mahmoud Al-Misbah, head of the relief and projects sector at the association, mentioned that the doctors performed approximately 184 surgical operations at the Kuwait Specialized Hospital and the European Hospital during their seven-day stay in Gaza. They also conducted medical examinations for over 1,000 sick Gazans using the medical equipment they brought.

Al-Misbah revealed that the society signed an agreement with the Rahma Around the World Association in Gaza to employ a medical staff of 313 individuals. Before departing, they initiated procedures to establish a field hospital to support the health sector and provide care for 790 families in Gaza.
