The Ministry of Public Works Improves Quality Control Measures for Asphalt Factories

The Ministry of Public Works has announced the retrieval of 52 samples from different asphalt factories and sites nationwide as part of its continuous efforts to monitor asphalt production quality and road maintenance, according to Al-Jarida daily. These samples underwent 79 tests at road laboratories to ensure they meet quality standards. Moreover, the ministry conducted 607 inspections of asphalt factories in February, resulting in the issuance of six calibration-related certificates. Ministry sources emphasized their dedication to addressing complaints from citizens and residents, particularly regarding road maintenance, with prompt responses and maintenance teams dispatched across the governorates as needed.

Maintenance
Specialized teams rapidly assess maintenance requirements and initiate appropriate repairs guided by expert knowledge. Dr. Noura Al-Mashaan, Minister of Public Works and Minister of State for Municipal Affairs, is expected to announce two new contracts for vital maintenance projects soon, reflecting a holistic approach to maintenance covering both interior areas and major highways.

Recent initiatives include maintenance work on key highways such as Al-Salmi Road, the Sixth and Seventh Ring Road, Subiya Road, King Fahd Road, Al-Fahaheel Road, Al-Jahra, Abdali, as well as various ring roads and intersections. These efforts aim to improve highway infrastructure efficiency, asphalt quality, pothole treatment, bridge expansion joint maintenance, and rainwater sewer network cleaning.
