The Traffic Department is committed to targeting reckless drivers

As the weather improves and the picnic season begins, the General Traffic Department is focused on targeting reckless drivers, particularly on nighttime roads. Security sources indicate that there will be intensive campaigns in high-risk areas, with strict traffic measures imposed on violators. Over the past week, traffic patrols referred 19 minors to the Public Prosecution for driving without licenses and arrested 29 individuals for serious traffic violations.

The General Traffic Department also reported that several large-scale traffic campaigns were conducted across all governorates last week. These efforts led to the arrest of 24 individuals with outstanding arrest warrants, expired residencies, or who were otherwise reported as absconding. Additionally, 53 vehicles and 57 motorcycles were impounded, 47,810 traffic citations were issued, and 56 wanted vehicles were seized. Traffic accident statistics for the week showed 920 collisions, with 181 resulting in injuries.

Meanwhile, the Public Relations Department at the Kuwait Municipality has announced that its cleaning department field teams are intensifying their inspections to address cleanliness and road occupancy violations throughout all governorates. They are also working to enhance the effectiveness of supervisory bodies in enforcing municipal regulations. Recently, the Cleanliness and Roads Occupancy General Department in Jahra Governorate carried out extensive inspections in residential areas to improve cleanliness, remove road obstructions, and prevent improper waste disposal. Nawaf Al-Mutairi, Acting Director of the branch and Director of the Cleanliness and Roads Occupancy General Department, stated that these intensified inspections aim to identify violations and enforce legal actions against offenders. His team is dedicated to enhancing cleanliness, removing visual obstructions, and ensuring strict adherence to road occupancy regulations across the governorate.
