Three Kuwaiti Customs Staff Arrested for Lyrica Smuggling Scheme

According to security sources speaking to Al-Seyassah/Arab Times, the Criminal Security Sector, under the leadership of the General Administration for Narcotics Control and overseen by Assistant Undersecretary for Criminal Security Affairs Major General Hamid AlDawas and Brigadier General Muhammad Qabazard, has arrested three customs employees. They are accused of aiding a smuggler in bringing bags of Lyrica pills into the country two weeks ago.
Some of the suspects admitted to taking bribes for facilitating the entry of these bags. The individuals have been handed over to the Public Prosecution for further investigation. These arrests are part of an ongoing investigation into the smuggling of one million narcotic pills from the Emirates by a Kuwaiti citizen via the airport two weeks ago. This operation involved cooperation between Kuwaiti and Emirati security forces, resulting in the arrest of an Egyptian resident in the Emirates who was found in possession of 2.75 million narcotic pills, bringing the total seizure to 3.75 million Lyrica pills.
