A KD10 liquor bottle found at a doorstep in Salmiya

Personnel from the Criminal Investigation Department in Salmiya have arrested three expatriates for bootlegging. The Al-Seyassah daily reported that the suspects were apprehended in Salmiya with 213 bottles of locally produced alcohol. They were caught in the act while trying to transfer alcohol bottles from a taxi to another vehicle. According to a security source, the expatriates were intercepted near an empty lot. A police patrol became suspicious of a parked taxi next to another car, where the suspects were seen transferring something between the two vehicles. When the CID officers approached the taxi, the suspects tried to flee but were captured after putting up a strong resistance. During interrogation, the bootleggers admitted to producing alcohol for sale, selling one bottle for 10 dinars through a home delivery service.
