MANAMA, February 22: In preparation for its participation in the 40th Gulf Championship for Cup Winners’ Clubs, the Burgan handball team is traveling from Manama to Doha, the capital of Qatar. The championship is slated to occur in Qatar from this month’s 25th to the following March 5th.
Director of games Mohamed Al-Faraj is leading the Burgan delegation, supported by assistants Abdulaziz Najib and Abdullah Al-Yousifi, administrators and coach Saeed Hegazy, and assistants Khaled Melhem, Elias Al-Bastanji, and specialist Mohamed Amin. Twenty players make up the group, including Mustafa Bashir, an Egyptian, and Semedo, a professional for the Orange squad. Al Wakra Mohammed Al Abdi, the goalie, will accompany them in Doha.
After the tournament draw, Burgan is grouped with Al-Arabi of Qatar, Oman of Oman, and Al-Dair of Bahrain in the first group. The Kuwait club team, Al-Rayyan of Qatar, Maliha of the Emirates, and Al-Shabab of Bahrain are all included in the second group.
In other handball news, the third round of the League matches saw the Al-Qurain Club’s handball team defeat Al-Tadamon by a score of 40–15. With a score of 36-19, Kazma defeated Al-Sahel concurrently. The Sheikh Saad Al-Abdullah Complex hall hosted the matches.
